Created in 1920 to operate Wateree Hydro Station, Lake Wateree nestled between Kershaw, Fairfield, and Lancaster Counties has been the South's best-kept secret. It is the last and largest lake in the chain of the Catawba River at 27 miles long from Camden Dam to Cedar Lake Dam with 13,864 surface acres and 242 miles of shoreline.
